May 16 - May 22

May 22, 2009: Korcula Town, Croatia

May 21, 2009: An incredible "right place, right time" lunch deal with all the local specialities, including dried figs, candied oranges, octopus salad, grilled 'goff' fish, salad from the garden, cukarin biscuit with Armenac. Oh, and you can't forget sea urchin caviar straight from the sea behind us!

May 20, 2009: That is a forest fire that started while we were trying to while we were walking around the town of Ston, Croatia. Notice the few roofs that need a little extra loving
May 20, 2009: Luggage and stairs don't really get along. Since Dubrovnik is covered in stairs, we're glad we're going down and not up!

May 19, 2009: Dubrovnik, Croatia. Cendrine's and my skype converation with Garth.

May 19, 2009: View of Dubrovnik, Croatia from the Hilton Imperial. Silly that most rooms don't have this view!

May 18, 2009: Sunset in Bosnia, yes, Bosnia. Who knew we'd have to drive through 6km of Bosnia to get from one Croatian city to another! And yes, our unit and bikes are free from customs!

May 17, 2009: Cendrine and I play with the mirror while all our "goods" aka van, trailer and 27 bikes are being held hostage by the Croatian Customs for lack of proper documentation.

May 16, 2009: After a few phone calls with Dan, some very help Italian workers, We made it onto the boat! (And I thought I wouldn't have any photos for today!)

May 16, 2009: His cheeky fountain knew what was in store for us. His look says, "you won't be allowed onto the ferry for lack of paperwork and barely make it on board and yet another surprise awaits in Croatia!" Sure enough... he was right!

May 16, 2009: Docks in Ancona, Italy. We were SO EXCITED about our "cruise" that we arrived 4 hours early!!!

May 16, 2009: Ancona, Italy. It's summer time!!!

  1. Wow, all of these are absolutely amazing! I especially like the trek van beside the boat and the sunset in Bosnia is so beautiful. I often envy your life Kathryn. Such great experiences! Love Nicola
